The Winooski Historical Society is currently working on a project to rekindle old memories and try to relive a lot of the rich culture and heritage of our past in Winooski. In doing so we are seeking the help of its many citizens, in asking them to share with us their stories, be they personal, of historical value, or just plain interesting. Our intent is to publish a newsletter at the society on a quarterly basis and share these stories with others.

Do you have a fond or funny memory about the church sponsored street bazaars that were part of who we were in Winooski during the 50’s or some funny or interesting thing that may have occurred while attending one of those King Reid Carnivals? Maybe the story you most remember happened at the Nichol or Strand Theatre or next door at the Sweet Shop. Maybe your story has something to do with the Mill or your days in the classroom. If it’s about Winooski and the people who lived here and you would like to share it with us we would love to hear from you.

Please contact Al Blondin at 802.878.3861 or Robert Picher at 802.655.0426, or,  send your story to Al at our museum address.
